What if no one had to face death alone?
Our story
The Denver Deathcare Collective was born from an organic weaving of our paths as we each carried our medicine, our stories, our lived experience with loss.
We didn’t plan this collective, but instead whispered our prayers out loud to our ancestors, to spirit and found each other.
Through meeting each other we shared our innate pull to the mysteries of death, where we don’t shy away but instead show up in witnessing, in opening.
Our common thread being revealed to support others through death and dying with care, ritual and presence.
We grew naturally from the overlaps in our hearts and work.
When you work with one of us through the collective, you are being held by us all.
What is a Death Doula?
A death doula (sometimes called an end-of-life doula) is a non-medical companion who supports individuals and their loved ones through the dying process.
Much like a birth doula supports new life coming into the world, a death doula walks alongside as life comes to its close — offering presence, guidance, ritual, and compassionate care.
Death doulas help create comfort, ease, and meaning in this tender time. This may include:
Sitting vigil and offering calm presence
Being an advocate and trusted companion
Helping attend to final pieces of business — whether practical, emotional, or spiritual
Supporting legacy projects, letters, or ritual planning
Guiding families through grief and remembrance practices
At its heart, death doula work is about companionship. It is an honoring of life and a commitment that no one should have to face death alone.
Death is a universal experience — and yet, so many people walk through it feeling alone, unsupported, or unsure where to turn.
The Denver Deathcare Collective was born from our shared belief that death deserves care, reverence, and community.
We came together with a vision: to change the way death is held, talked about, and tended in our communities.
We’re here to:
- Normalize conversations about death
- Create safe, sacred space for grief
- Offer practical + spiritual support through all stages of end-of-life
- Empower choice and reimagine what deathcare can look like
Thank you for walking alongside us — may we continue to grow a culture that honors death as much as we honor life.
Let’s change the way we talk about death — together.
